When is it okay to make a song request?

Almost always! At pop-ups, requests are always welcome. The only time we may not be able to take a request is if we are playing at an event with an already finalized setlist.Letting you listen to your favorite songs in game is our favorite part of doing this, so feel free to tell us what you want to hear.

How do I make a song request?

You may simply say so in public chat, and we will see it. If you requested a song that didn't get played, feel free to request again. It's possible we missed your original message in the chat, especially if the chat is busy.

Are you available for concerts and events?

Absolutely! We've performed at all sorts of venues and events. We enjoy supporting venues, especially those who host bards. The best form of contact for booking is by contacting #nolana through discord.

Can I request a song you don't have?

For obvious reasons, this isn't a possible request I can fulfill during a performance. However, if you are scheduling the Sex Cymbals to perform at your venue or event, you can let me know beforehand if there's a specific song you'd like to hear, and I can try to have it finished by then. No promises! There's no charge for making the request, as I'm usually happy to take it as a suggestion and add it to my library.

What are your rates?

Right now, this depends on the venue or event. I am happy to play for free most of the time. However, if your venue generates high revenue (gamba, raffles, etc.), I do charge 1 million gil per hour. If you profit, I profit. The rate is the same for private events (parties, bonding ceremonies, etc.). Community events are negotiable, but the same idea applies.

Do you have "Freebird"?

We sure do! He would prefer if you call him Bardbert though.

About Us

A'kalan Tia

Editor and Arranger

A'kalan came to Eorzea as an Ala Mhigan refugee in his early 20s. Since embracing his newfound freedom, he has discovered a love for music and performing (even if he is still prone to stage fright). With the support of his wife, Artymis, he is learning to settle into the spotlight. Since Ala Mhigo's liberation, he has occasionally returned to volunteer with restoration efforts.

Artymis Moonstalker

Emotional Support Wife

Artymis grew up in the West Shroud before it was destroyed by the Calamity. Since the loss of her home, she began to travel as an adventurer with her new roots settling in her sibling-like traveling companions: Gray and O'rion. She learned music during her travels and enjoys the opportunity to share the passion with her husband, A'kalan.

Bardbert Freebird

After abandoning his noble birth to pursue the arts, Bardbert joined the Sex Cymbals to find a new family that both understood his passion and supported his dreams. He is constantly moved by his own popularity, as he hears people demanding "Freebird," even when he isn't performing. His growing fame encourages him daily and reminds him that abandoning his fortune has been worth it.

Ivona Dordevik

Certified Bully

Born to refugees in Little Ala Mhigo, Ivona grew up in the deserts of Thanalan with her two brothers. While most of her family has now returned to Gyr Abania, she has remained in Eorzea, as it is the only home she's ever known. Having been taught to read music by her father, music remains a way to connect with her family in spite of the distance.

Ying'yue Lei

Ying'yue was raised in a small tribe in the eastern Tail Mountains. Her people remained in solitude and far from conflict present in the rest of Othard, but scouts were able to pass word regardless. Upon hearing the news of Doma's victory, Ying'yue felt inspired to see more of the world. Fairly lost and a little naive in a world with customs so unlike her own, she was found by Ivona, who helped her adjust.

The Doppelanger

The real Artymis is a very busy person. She works long hours in the day in order to financially support the band. In the event she's unable to perform, "Not Artymis" steps in to take her place during the show. Despite having no relation to each other, Kalan can only tell them apart when the imposter wears glasses. We do not know her real name...
